NETWORKA note on coverage
Halo runs on AT&T's nationwide 5G and 4G LTE network. If you are switching from Verizon, you are switching the network underneath as well. Coverage is broad across the US, but it is worth checking AT&T coverage in the spots that matter to you (home, work, your commute) before you start.

Check that your phone is unlocked
Verizon devices on most newer plans are sold unlocked or unlock automatically 60 days after activation. Older or financed devices may still be locked. On iPhone, open Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock. “No SIM restrictions” means you are unlocked. On Android, open Settings → Connections → Mobile network → SIM status. Still locked? Request an unlock through Verizon support. More detail: Is your phone unlocked? - 02receipt_long
Check what leaving will cost
Verizon's older service commitment contracts still carry early termination fees. Newer plans replace the ETF with device financing. On an older contract with an advanced device, the ETF starts around $350 and declines the longer you have stayed; for a basic phone the ETF is often around $175. On newer plans with device financing there is typically no separate ETF, but you still owe the remaining device balance. Prepaid lines have no annual contract and no ETF. Get your Verizon Number Transfer PIN
Verizon requires a Number Transfer PIN before it will release your number. Sign in to your Verizon account, open the port-out portal in account profile security settings, and generate the PIN. Save it. It is valid for a limited time. Direct link: Verizon port-out portal. - 04description
Have your account details ready
Halo needs your Verizon account number, account holder name, billing address on file, and Number Transfer PIN. Use the values exactly as they appear on your Verizon account. - 05sim_card
Start your transfer with Halo
During signup, choose Keep my number, paste the details from the previous step, and submit. Most transfers complete within minutes. - 06check_circle
When your number transfers
If you used a physical Verizon SIM, remove it. If you used a Verizon eSIM, disable it in your phone's cellular settings. Place a test call, send a test text, and load a web page on cellular. If anything is off, contact Halo support.

Important
Do not cancel your Verizon line first. Canceling before the port can release your number back into the pool. Halo closes your Verizon line automatically once the transfer completes.
