NETWORKA note on coverage

Halo runs on AT&T's nationwide 5G and 4G LTE network. If you are switching from T-Mobile, you are switching the network underneath as well. Coverage is broad across the US, but it is worth checking AT&T coverage in the spots that matter to you before you start.

STEP-BY-STEPSix steps to switch from T-Mobile

Check that your phone is unlocked

T-Mobile typically unlocks devices once they are paid off and the account has been active for at least 40 days. On iPhone, open Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock. “No SIM restrictions” means you are unlocked. On Android, open Settings → Connections → Mobile network → SIM status. Still locked? Request an unlock through T-Mobile's Device Unlock app or support. More detail: Is your phone unlocked?

    Check what leaving will cost

T-Mobile has largely eliminated service contracts and traditional ETFs for postpaid plans. The remaining cost is your device: if you financed a phone, you still owe the remaining payments. Prepaid lines have no contract and no ETF. Log in at t-mobile.com to confirm your device balance before you start. More detail: Will your current carrier charge you to leave?

Get your T-Mobile Number Transfer PIN

T-Mobile requires a Number Transfer PIN before it will release your number. Sign in to your T-Mobile account or app, open the transfer-your-phone-number page in account settings, and generate the PIN. Save it. It is valid for a limited time. Direct link: T-Mobile transfer-your-phone-number.

    Have your account details ready

Halo needs your T-Mobile account number, account holder name, billing address on file, and Number Transfer PIN. Use the values exactly as they appear on your T-Mobile account. A typo can stall the port.

    Start your transfer with Halo

During signup, choose Keep my number, paste the details from the previous step, and submit. Most transfers complete within minutes.

    When your number transfers

If you used a physical T-Mobile SIM, remove it. If you used a T-Mobile eSIM, disable it in your phone's cellular settings. Place a test call, send a test text, and load a web page on cellular. If anything is off, contact Halo support.

Important
Do not cancel your T-Mobile line first. Canceling before the port can release your number back into the pool. Halo closes your T-Mobile line automatically once the transfer completes.
